New Economy Project continues to mobilize support for the Community Land Act, a game-changing legislative package to help CLTs and other nonprofits develop and preserve permanently-affordable housing, commercial, and community spaces. With allies in the NYC Community Land Initiative, we’ve secured a near-supermajority of City Council members as sponsors of the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act (Intro 196), Public Land for Public Good (Intro 637), and other priorities – and we’re fighting to make sure the bills pass this fall!
