On December 16, New Economy Project, Housing Conservation Coordinators, and NYCCLI coalition partners delivered over 1,000 holiday “gifts”—personally signed postcards from tenants and community members—to NYC City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, urging her to pass the Community Land Act.
Ahead of the action, our senior program associate Will Spisak joined 1010 WINS to discuss the affordable housing crisis and how the Community Land Act would give community land trusts and other nonprofits tools to expand permanently affordable, community-controlled housing and community spaces in Black and brown neighborhoods.
