This week’s BronxTalk takes a look at the recent opening of ‘The Bronx People’s Federal Credit Union’ in Longwood and why this is significant for a community that has been red-lined and underserved in the past. The Bronx Financial Access Coalition, which consists of four long-standing Bronx community housing organizations, along with Webster Bank and the Lower East Side People’s Federal Credit Union, are hoping this is the first step in helping Bronx residents build wealth, not debt.
