NYS CommuniTy Equity Agenda
We need policies and institutions that transform our fundamentally unjust economic system.
That requires a vision where racial and economic justice are front and center, and where the people and communities typically left out of—and harmed by—status quo economic development are the ones driving decisions about economic policy.
That’s why New Economy Project co-founded and convenes the NYS Community Equity Agenda, a broad-based coalition of over 50 community, labor, civil rights, and legal services groups, built to take the fight for economic justice to Albany.
Together we are advancing policies and institutions, like worker and financial cooperatives and public banks, that challenge structural inequality and build lasting community wealth.
In the face of mounting federal attacks on low-income people, immigrants, women, and people of color, the need for bold, local action has never been greater.
